MIDHAS (Metabolism | Inflammation | Digital Health to Advance Systems Medicine) is an interdisciplinary research consortium bringing together expertise in fundamental science, translational research, and clinical application at the University of Bern and Inselspital.

As the home of the MeHDI (Metabolic Health, Digitization and Inflammation) Cluster and Osteology Research Network (ORN), MIDHAS fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across musculoskeletal health, metabolic disease, inflammation, digital health, and related fields. A central focus of the consortium is the study of metaflammation, a chronic, low-grade inflammation driven by metabolic dysfunction, and its role in the development of complex chronic and age-related diseases.

By integrating molecular, clinical, and digital approaches, MIDHAS aims to advance systems medicine and support the development of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies that promote healthy ageing, improve health outcomes, and enhance patient wellbeing.
