Welcome to MIDHAS
MIDHAS, Metabolism I Inflammation I Digital Health to Advance Systems Medicine, is a collaborative consortium of researchers dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary science across musculoskeletal health, metabolic disease, inflammation, digital health, and related fields. Our members bring together expertise spanning fundamental discovery, clinical research, and data-driven methodologies to drive innovation and tackle the complexities of chronic disease to support healthy aging.
Under the umbrella of MIDHAS we are hosting two flagship initiatives:
Metabolic Health, Digitization & Inflammation - MeHDI
MeHDI - Metabolic Health, Digitization & Inflammation - is a research cluster dedicated to collaborative research in metabolic and inflammatory disorders, advanced imaging, digital biomarkers, and computational modeling. By leveraging multi-modal data from molecular and cellular biology, patient cohorts, medical imaging, and digital health tools, MeHDI aims to contribute to a holistic vision of health: shifting medicine from reactive to predictive, and enabling therapies tailored to individual physiology and disease trajectories.
Osteology Research Network - ORN
The Osteology Research Network (ORN) is MeHDI's companion initiative, dedicated to bone- and musculoskeletal-related research, bone metabolism, and structural health. In concert with MeHDI, ORN ensures that skeletal health and bone integrity remain a central pillar of the overarching systems-medicine strategy.
Although distinct initiatives, MeHDI & ORN overlap strongly in methodology, data integration, and overarching goals. Together under MIDHAS, they provide a balanced, comprehensive framework for understanding human health across tissues, systems, and scales.
MeHDI & ORN researchers - driven by a systems-based approach - have a common vision to make personalized, predictive, and proactive health management a reality for everyone.
